Mark Saresky

Mark Saresky received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto in 1988, while studying under Avrahm Galper and David Bourque. He also received his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1989, and his Principals Papers from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in 2003.

Mark is currently in his 10th year with the Hart House Symphonic Band and 29th year as a music educator for the District School Board of Niagara, where he holds the position of Head of Music at Grimsby Secondary School. Throughout his teaching career he has been invited to work with students from the Hamilton Youth Orchestra, Niagara Youth Orchestra, and the Niagara Kiwanais Music Festival. His extended teaching has allowed him to mentor Faculty of Education students from several institutions.

As a clarinetist, he has performed with the Hamilton Youth Orchestra, Hamilton Concert Band, Burlington Light Opera Society, Hamilton Theatre Incorporated and Montreal Youth Orchestra at the Banff Performing Arts Centre, in addition to several University of Toronto ensembles. As a conductor, Mark is an innovative programmer who pays close attention to the subtle nuances of musical expression.
