HHSB Audition Information
Audition Information for Fall 2024
Thank you for your interest in the Hart House Symphonic Band. In-person auditions are scheduled to take place Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 from 4:00-7:30PM.

What do I need to play during my audition?
Part A - Play each of the following scales in two octaves, employing any articulation pattern
- B flat concert
- E flat concert
- F concert
- A flat concert
Part B - Play a chromatic scale, slurred, from your lowest to highest note, ascending and descending, as fast as possible
Part C - Intonation Tuning - You will be asked to tune to a live performer, to assess your ability to listen and adjust your tuning.
Part D - Sight Reading - You will be asked to sight read a short concert band excerpt.
Part E - Select and perform one musical excerpt from the attached folder for your instrument here (please express interest to obtain the password): HHSB Audition Excerpts
